What this site is
GiftWiseList publishes gift guides organised by who you are shopping for (an age or a relationship), by budget, by life event and by seasonal occasion. Each guide is written for one kind of recipient and explains what tends to work for them, what usually misses, and why each pick made the list.
How guides are made
The rules in full are on the editorial policy page. In short:
- Editorial selection. Every gift on the site was chosen and written up by a person. Guides are not generated automatically from product feeds or search volume.
- Reasons, not just lists. Each pick includes a short explanation of why it suits the recipient and, where relevant, a “good to know” note about a drawback or practical detail.
- No prices. Retail prices change constantly, so we do not print them. Every button says “Check price” and takes you to the retailer’s current page.
- Review dates. “Guide last reviewed” at the bottom of a guide is the date the guide as a whole was last looked over. It does not mean every product was re-checked that day.
What this site is not
We do not host user reviews, ratings or comments, and we do not publish product specifications or availability claims we cannot verify. If a guide is thin, we would rather leave it unpublished than pad it.
How the site is funded
GiftWiseList is supported by affiliate commissions. When you click a retailer button and buy something, the retailer may pay us a small percentage at no extra cost to you. This never affects which gifts we include or how we describe them. Read the full affiliate disclosure.
Corrections
If something on the site is wrong, out of stock for good, or simply a poor recommendation, please tell us. Guides are updated when we learn something that changes the advice.
